The Innovation Valley Technology Council announced its plans today to offer two $2,500 scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic school year.
The scholarships are intended to support undergraduate study for a student who is passionate about technology.
One scholarship will be offered to a current undergraduate student of a local institution of higher education.
One scholarship will be offered to a graduating high school senior of public, private or home schools in Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier, and Union Counties in Tennessee.
Student must have a current 3.0 minimum GPA to apply. The recipient must be admitted or enrolled in an accredited degree program at a local college or university.
Each scholarship award is for $2,500 and will be presented to the students and the local institution they will attend for the 2008-2009 academic year. Recipients will also be invited and recognized at an Innovation Valley Technology Council luncheon.
